Best way to make a backup copy of a DVD?
« on: May 23, 2014, 10:45:46 PM »
So what would be the best (free) way to do this on a Windows 7 64-bit desktop with only one DVD writer?  I mean, to make an EXACT backup copy with menus, special features, and whatever other data happens to be on the disc.  I've never done it before.

DVD shrink + DVD decryptor. Stick within the law.

The world is charged with the grandeur of God.
    It will flame out, like shining from shook foil;
    It gathers to a greatness, like the ooze of oil
Crushed. Why do men then now not reck his rod?
Generations have trod, have trod, have trod;
    And all is seared with trade; bleared, smeared with toil;
    And wears man's smudge and shares man's smell: the soil
Is bare now, nor can foot feel, being shod.

And for all this, nature is never spent;
    There lives the dearest freshness deep down things;
And though the last lights off the black West went
    Oh, morning, at the brown brink eastward, springs —
Because the Holy Ghost over the bent
    World broods with warm breast and with ah! bright wings.

Really, that's it?  Do I need to use a dual-layer DVD or do the standard 4.7 gig ones work just fine?

Actually it doesn't look like that's even an issue... the DVD I was given to back up was well under 4GB anyway and only contained one 50-minute video on the whole disc.

You could even use something simple like AppGeeker DVD Copy if you just want to do something that easy.

Thanks, but I already finished successfully.  I'll check that out though.
