Moving to Ottawa, ON
« on: March 16, 2021, 02:40:44 PM »
Please offer a quick prayer for us if you can: DH has applied for a MA in Theology bridging into doctoral studies program. While we haven't heard back yet, we're hoping he is accepted into the program.

If he is (and assuming courses are in-person), we will be moving from Alberta to Ontario at the end of the summer. Neither of us have lived outside of Alberta before, and since the pandemic, our connections to people at church have grown stronger: it will be tough to leave. Due to finances, we will be renting in/around Ottawa and the plan is to attend St. Clement (FSSP).
Just curious if anyone has experiences to share from that part of the trad world!

A couple from Bary's Bay that some times comes here to Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Hastings other times go to St. Clement in Ottawa.  It's about the same distance for them whether they come here or go to St. Clement.

The lady that runs our parish book store moved here from St. Clement in Ottawa.

They have a three day pilgrimage from St. Clement in Ottawa to the Marian shrine at Cap-de-la-Madeleine near Trois-Rivières, Quebec.  It's a long one; 60 miles.  I believe they do it every year.

I've never actually been to St. Clement myself, so that's about all I can say about it.

PS If you are curious about the Marian shrine at Cap-de-la-Madeleine I just happened to post a history of it in the history forum yesterday.

Prayers requested.  :pray2:
