Catholic friends have posted that photo of Cardi B on Facebook about her disgusting song, WAP. They're making the argument that it's awful that Dr. Seuss books get censored and yet there's this. What is the Catholic reasoning behind not posting this photo? I said that it's an occasion of sin for men to see this yet I think the objections go beyond that. I just don't know how to articular them.

Help?
In conclusion, I can leave you with no better advice than that given after every sermon by Msgr Vincent Giammarino, who was pastor of St Michael’s Church in Atlantic City in the 1950s:

“My dear good people: Do what you have to do, When you’re supposed to do it, The best way you can do it,   For the Love of God. Amen.”

You beat me to it.

Seeing her, the occasion of sin for me is not lust, rather bulimia

I've never heard her music, but I've heard the name "Cardi b." I figured correctly that it must be a rap artist. Who else would use a handle like that? I never bother with rap artists.  I'm too old for that nonsense.

Seeing her is an occasion to vomit.   :vomit:

I've never heard of her before today.  She is ugly.

That "song" WAP should be R rated.  It is verbal pornography.  It couldn't be any more filthier.

Yeah Cardi B is a whore, why any 'Catholic' would post a picture of here is beyond me. Also, what I don't get for the life of me is why people actually listen to the modern pop/rap/hiphop. It's not even music.

Your Catholic friends need to realize that the "Other Side" literally doesn't give a flying frig about double standards.  They will do whatever it takes to destroy Catholic civilization. All that matters to the Other Side is a destruction of the white, Christian patriarchy.

This isn't high school debate.

Right. But posting disgusting images (so that we have "knowledge" of the depravity of the "Other Side") will not help us at our particular judgement. I recommended that she talk to a priest about this tactic but she feels that needs to know what the culture is. I unfollowed her.

Yes, it should not be posted, because (1) evil should never be promoted (2) it can be occasion of sin for others, (3) everyone will be much better off listening to some spiritually uplifting music, etc, rather than wasting their time looking at such pornographic and ugly filth. Many reasons not to post it. I'm surprised professing Catholics would. Clearly sinful, and should not be spread in any way, and confessed if done.

I did a 'moderate' image search. She looks rather like how I imagine ladyboys or the higher effort troons (the ones that don't look like burly or wizened old men in dresses). Eugh.

What is the Catholic reasoning behind not posting this photo?

Decorum, which is a feature of the Catholic virtue of Modesty, explicated by St. Thomas. By decorum, we refrain from engaging in vulgar activity or speech, because both violate our dignity in our own eyes, the eyes of others, and the eyes of God. Second would be scandal to the innocent (of any age). Third reason would be the occasion of sin which you mention. Finally, it contributes to the degradation of society rather than the edification of society.

That's it! That's the word I was looking for. I just stopped following (temporarily) the friends who posted the photo. If they continue to post things like that, I'll have to unfriend them. At least now, I'd be able to explain why...  ::)
