Septuagesima 2021
« on: January 30, 2021, 03:28:47 PM »
Dear Forum members,

Most of this is material I did not post last year.  The first is a series of articles from the FSSP on tomorrow's celebration.

1. Starting with the FSSP material, all 8 chapters:

2.  Continuing with a lovely long article in Regina Magazine:
https://www.reginamag.com/the-season-of-septuagesima/

3. Two short audio sermons.  (The first one is a re-post from last year; the second is not.)

I had no idea Septuagesima is tomorrow.  I'm a bad Catholic.  Lent is almost here!  :O

Of course your whole life is one continual Lent; how can you possibly keep track?
"The World Must Conform to Our Lord and not He to it." Rev. Dennis Fahey CSSP

"My brothers, all of you, if you are condemned to see the triumph of evil, never applaud it. Never say to evil: you are good; to decadence: you are progess; to death: you are life. Sanctify yourselves in the times wherein God has placed you; bewail the evils and the disorders which God tolerates; oppose them with the energy of your works and your efforts, your life uncontaminated by error, free from being led astray, in such a way that having lived here below, united with the Spirit of the Lord, you will be admitted to be made but one with Him forever and ever: But he who is joined to the Lord is one in spirit." Cardinal Pie of Potiers

I certainly know as post Mass propers and some text on a local webforum, and when I do my private prayers (inc. Confessions) for Saturday, I usually read the Mass to myself, pray it in whatever way a layman can. I hope at least to hear Mass in person for at least some of it.  :pray1:
Padre Pio: Pray, hope, and don't worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer.
