I feel I am posessed
« on: July 30, 2020, 08:18:48 AM »
Please help me.

I feel that I am demonically possessed. I have not been in the state of grace for several months.

I have spoken things and done things and I do not believe that I was fully in control of myself when I was doing them.

For example, abusing a crucifix, praising Satan and cursing God, Our Lord, the Blessed Sacrament and Our Lady. I am very upset that I have done this.

What am I supposed to do I do now? Will the Catholic Church take me seriously if I ask for an exorcism? What if they do not give me an exorcism?

Make a Good Confession, preferably a General Confession. Consult a Priest, especially an Authorized Exorcist. Yes, exorcisms are good to ask for in such situations. Ask for one, and you may be delivered completely. Have your Rosary and Scapular and other religious objects blessed in Holy Water. Make the Sign of the Cross with Holy Water often. Wear the Scapular and consider wearing the Rosary also. Through prayer and through the Sacraments, through the efforts of holy Priests, through Sacramentals and through a good exorcism, you should be set free.

I really feel sorry that you are in this situation but there is always a way back to grace.

I would recommend that you first assume that there are natural causes to your state of mind. And then ask a priest what he thinks about exorcism. Take time out from the internet also.

I will pray for you

Well, I've been able to see a priest for exorcism for a less serious case than yours, and he's a priest of the diocese who only offers the Novus Ordo. The only difficult part was contacting an exorcist in the first place, and that was because I'd become debilitatingly angry beforehand.  In other words, it's not difficult, but the devil might try to dissuade you from it. Don't delay seeking help from a priest.

I also think it would be good to see a doctor, particularly if you've been the victim of some form of abuse.

edit: Was just looking through your posting history, Pugin, and saw that you've used abusive language towards yourself, and made reference to abuse at the hands of the Church. You are not "pathetic" or a "loser". That is a satanic way to describe yourself. Jesus never uses that sort of language towards people who have suffered and been tossed aside by the world. I also fear that, especially for people in positions like yours, the often very high-strung rhetoric of Traditionalism can make your self-abuse and self-hatred worse. You aren't pathetic for being victimised by men in power, or for the self-destructive habits and tendencies you've developed because of that victimisation and abuse. You shouldn't feel ashamed for struggling with the faith either. Your anger towards God, Christ, Mary, the Church, etc., would just be the anger you feel at your abusers being re-directed. If you have suffered that, then it may be best to seek psychiatric help for it.

Sounds like possession.  If it were just thoughts, then it would be demonic obsession.  But doing the physical, e.g. "abusing the crucifix" makes it more serious.  Find an exorcist.  I recommend telling a trusted friend or family member that you are having problem with demons, you don't trust yourself, and you want them to find you an exorcist.  Barring that, are you able to go to confession?  If so, tell the priest in the confessional.

They'll put you on pills.  You need a Catholic psychologist.  Find one of those also.  A Catholic exorcist will know who to send you to in order to rule out a psychological problem.

If you're upset that you've done the things you say, you're not possessed, but oppressed or obsessed.
This *might be* a specific type of demonic influence that needs its own remedy, but it is most likely not spiritual in origin.
Talk to a priest or your bishop's office in person... do everything they say, including obtaining a secular assessment that has
to be considered before any priest will even think about exorcism (except in the most rare cases).
You might just need psychiactric help, confession, blessing, ritual cleansing prayers, spiritual counseling, et cetera.

Just get out there and talk to the real people in real life... not on the internet... have courage and self-respect.
God Loves You.

A. W. Putin I see you were permanently banned from SD yesterday because of posts that Kaesekopf saw. I hope you still can still see the good advise in this thread to get mental and spiritual help. As Sanantonio says the internet is not the best place for this so maybe getting banned was a blessing, an incentive for better action. :pray2:
[Matthew 8:26]  And Jesus saith to them: Why are you fearful, O ye of little faith? Then rising up he commanded the winds, and the sea, and there came a great calm.

[Job  38:1-5]  Then the Lord answered Job out of a whirlwind, and said: [2] Who is this that wrappeth up sentences in unskillful words? [3] Gird up thy loins like a man: I will ask thee, and answer thou me. [4] Where wast thou when I laid up the foundations of the earth? tell me if thou hast understanding. [5] Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?

Jesus, Mary, I love Thee! Save souls!

Skip the local ordinaries, call Fr. Ripperger asap. Even if the NO priest was willing to listen and perform, he would not necessarily be doing it properly. I would not see a shrink, they will just say you are crazy, inject you with something, and lock you up. Also, if you are struggling with pornography, homosexuality, or drugs then you need to stop and get help on that front immediately. Those things are gateways for satan more than anything else.

A man who's dedicated his life to the clerical sex abuse crisis is Fr. Tom Doyle OP.
You might want to look him up, especially if it encourages you to seek psychiatric help. I imagine there are therapists who specialise with victims of clerical sex abuse.

Quite sure Pugin was not a troll. His rapid swinging from extreme aggression to extreme self-loathing is consistent with deep victimisation.

This, exactly.  And to make things even worse, the angry meltdowns will then create more shame for Pugin, only adding to his extreme self-loathing.  It can so easily become a vicious cycle.

It's tough to determine if someone is trolling.  Usually the dude gets bored of it.

K. handled it the right way.  The dude violated forum rules and got banned.  At the same time there is enough info that if he is legit, he can get some help.  There's nothing more to add, talk to a priest.  An exorcist must check with a psych before doing an exorcism, so the dude will get psych help if that is what he needs.

Beyond that, pray for him.  There's nothing more to add.
