Returning
« on: July 24, 2020, 06:38:47 PM »
Hello,

I posted here once, several years ago. This is my favourite forum and I often lurk here.

I am looking for Traditional Catholic camaraderie, because there are very few authentic Trads where I live; a large city in a small Northern European country.

Welcome to the forum! Great to have another member here.
"The World Must Conform to Our Lord and not He to it." Rev. Dennis Fahey CSSP

"My brothers, all of you, if you are condemned to see the triumph of evil, never applaud it. Never say to evil: you are good; to decadence: you are progess; to death: you are life. Sanctify yourselves in the times wherein God has placed you; bewail the evils and the disorders which God tolerates; oppose them with the energy of your works and your efforts, your life uncontaminated by error, free from being led astray, in such a way that having lived here below, united with the Spirit of the Lord, you will be admitted to be made but one with Him forever and ever: But he who is joined to the Lord is one in spirit." The lockdown has exacerbated neurosis and loneliness for a lot of people. I have felt largely the same. I feel I have backslided spiritually due to not having access to confession, although I do not claim that this is a legitimate excuse.

That happens to everyone who can't go to Confession regularly.

No FSSPX in those lands. Right?

There's at least three SSPX chapels in Scotland; in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow.  I have a couple of friends that go to St. Andrew's in Glasgow.

Here in Ireland too!

Awh (see what I did there with your name wink wink!), I was wondering if you were from Sweden and I would love a perspective from someone there.

Lockdown was tough and I think they'll turn the dial up on restrictions the next time e.g you might have to book your time to go to the supermarket or the doctor etc and we might be confined to our property.  Not sure obviously as it has been different for every  country.  So it is a good idea to be able to communicate with other trads and surround yourself with people whom you can relate to.

In conclusion, I can leave you with no better advice than that given after every sermon by Msgr Vincent Giammarino, who was pastor of St Michael’s Church in Atlantic City in the 1950s:

“My dear good people: Do what you have to do, When you’re supposed to do it, The best way you can do it,   For the Love of God. Amen.”

FSSPX are in Scandinavia as well!

In the past, there has been a lot of coordination between the society's clergy in Ireland, Great Britain, and Scandinavia.
