To meat or not to meat?
« on: November 01, 2019, 06:07:46 AM »
That is my question on this Glorious Feast of all Saints,
Friday ,November 1, 2019.

Ave Maria!

Schaff Recht mir Gott und führe meine Sache gegen ein unheiliges Volk . . .   .
Lex Orandi, lex credendi, lex vivendi.
"Die Welt sucht nach Ehre, Ansehen, Reichtum, Vergnügen; die Heiligen aber suchen Demütigung, Verachtung, Armut, Abtötung und Buße." --Ausschnitt von der Geschichte des Lebens St. Bennos.

I'm pretty sure yes, we are allowed. Because it's a holy day of obligation.

The bigger question would be, should we have eaten meat yesterday? I personally did because it was convenient for me to do so, and because I don't think there's any law prohibiting it (although historically All Saints Eve was a day of fasting).

Happy All Saints Day.

Would you like to shake hands with Pope 1 or Pope 2 -

But when he's dumb and no more here,
Nineteen hundred years or near,
Clau-Clau-Claudius shall speak clear.

My calendar from the ICK does NOT have today as a day of penance or abstinence, and the liturgy is undoubtedly joyful in nature.
