The Laws and Society of the Lombards

This is the seventh short lecture (in English) of a cycle dedicated to the Middle Ages. It examines the society of the Lombards in Italy during the VII century, through their laws and institutions.
The Edict of Rothari gives us a vivid picture of the Lombards’ society, very different from the ones familiar to us, with its social classes, economy and strange beliefs.
