Catholic prayers in Elvish
« on: December 04, 2018, 01:07:39 PM »
Most of Tolkien's writings on his invented languages will never be published as they are very technical.  However, for a long time now a group has been allowed access to these materials by the Estate.  This group's work is published in several different journals.

In one of them, Vinyar Tengwar, was published several Catholic prayers.  Here is a sample .pdf that has the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be.

“Arguing with anonymous strangers on the Internet is a sucker's game because they almost always turn out to be—or to be indistinguishable from—self-righteous sixteen-year-olds possessing infinite amounts of free time.”

How interesting.  :)
In conclusion, I can leave you with no better advice than that given after every sermon by Msgr Vincent Giammarino, who was pastor of St Michael’s Church in Atlantic City in the 1950s:

“My dear good people: Do what you have to do, When you’re supposed to do it, The best way you can do it,   For the Love of God. Amen.”
