The story of Irish (Neutral) Merchant seamen captured by the Germans and forced into slave labor for the duration of the war.

Yes, they were invited to join to the Nazi war effort, which at that point had only the weak IRA (harried by de Valera) and some other minor subversives. They refused, so forced labour was their lot until Germany was defeated.
