Name That Chick Flick
« on: January 17, 2016, 01:02:45 PM »
You have to give the quintessential line that makes a movie a chick flick.  Many times there is more than one, so repeats are allowed.  For the guys interested in playing, this is the moment when you look over at your wife or girlfriend, and she is in the upright fetal position hiding behind a pillow peaking out over the top watching the movie.  I have 3.  First an easy one:

"Do not rob me of my hate".
"But he that doth not believe, is already judged: because he believeth not in the name of the only begotten Son of God (Jn 3:18)."

"All sorrow leads to the foot of the Cross.  Weep for your sins."

Birth of a Nation
The world is charged with the grandeur of God.
    It will flame out, like shining from shook foil;
    It gathers to a greatness, like the ooze of oil
Crushed. Why do men then now not reck his rod?
Generations have trod, have trod, have trod;
    And all is seared with trade; bleared, smeared with toil;
    And wears man's smudge and shares man's smell: the soil
Is bare now, nor can foot feel, being shod.

And for all this, nature is never spent;
    There lives the dearest freshness deep down things;
And though the last lights off the black West went
    Oh, morning, at the brown brink eastward, springs
Because the Holy Ghost over the bent
    World broods with warm breast and with ah! bright wings.

It's a chick flick and that is the correct answer.  I'm enjoying the film, then we get to the ring scene, and my quote was something like "Dag nam it, it's a fricking chick flick." at which point my wife had a good little giggle.

Princess Bride (?), but you have to wait until someone answers the latest one.

I Google'd this one, and I think we have strong differing opinions on chick flicks.....
