Who Else is Looking Forward to Windows 10?
« on: July 23, 2015, 10:18:16 AM »
I certainly am! More for my desktop than my Asus, because I just reinstalled Windows 7 last month to try to get an old and worthless MP3 player to work, and it was a complete waste of time that left me with two hard drives instead of one.  :o  :shrug: So I'm really hoping that Windows 10 will fix that. Plus, I'm just interested in seeing what new features Microsoft has come up with. What do you guys think?

I wouldn't mind it because it would mean I'd have a new computer, which I would very much like to have. Oh well. When's it coming out? What new features should it have? I run Windows 7 right now and it's fine....Windows 8 looks kind of dumb with that initial page and all those tiles.

I hope the crap that is 8.1 goes away.

Why does my start dialog need to be an entire screen?  I don't want that.  I want my regular Windows experience.

I'm not too crazy about Windows 8 either. Stupid tiles. Here's the review that I've been reading. It looks pretty thorough.

As long as my roflcopter will resume going soi soi soi soi soi soi soi...
The world is charged with the grandeur of God.
    It will flame out, like shining from shook foil;
    It gathers to a greatness, like the ooze of oil
Crushed. Why do men then now not reck his rod?
Generations have trod, have trod, have trod;
    And all is seared with trade; bleared, smeared with toil;
    And wears man's smudge and shares man's smell: the soil
Is bare now, nor can foot feel, being shod.

And for all this, nature is never spent;
    There lives the dearest freshness deep down things;
And though the last lights off the black West went
    Oh, morning, at the brown brink eastward, springs
Because the Holy Ghost over the bent
    World broods with warm breast and with ah! bright wings.

I would stick with what you have.

In my experience, new operating systems always have problems which take a while to get sorted out.  I would wait six months and see how things pan out.  By then they will have fixed most of the problems and it should be more stable.
