I would say, as Jayne did, that it still applies for trads, but is most definitely a grey are in the NO. It might be worth starting a thread about though. You'll probably get quite a bit more answers that way, I don't think many people are paying attention to this thread anymore lol

I am paying attention and I am really happy that you brought the subject to light Joshua....My question is does the term 'heresy' still apply given the ecumenical nature of V-2...I acutally posed the question on the other site and was put on probbation..oh no....heelp....Pax

Jayne, there are many more ideas that Pope Benedict has that are troublesome besides just his assessment of the Jews. It is more than I can list here. If you can bear it, you might want to take a listen to that youtube video Brother Peter Dimond's "The Heresies of Benedict XVI." He is biased towards sedevacantism, but the information he provides is easily available to do a fact check on. He gives you a screen shot of the book title, the passage, the page, everything you need for reference. Once you read the primary source of these ideas, you begin to see why Joshua was troubled by that particular passage and why the church is in such turmoil today. Connect the dots, and it starts to make sense. You begin to see the same pattern repeated by subsequent popes right up to today, including Francis.

I'm not qualified to call any pope a heretic--well, synod antics notwithstanding--I dislike having those thoughts about any pope. I'll keep praying for these post-conciliar popes, that they may let go of modernism. But I think Catholics who ignore it, deny it, excuse it, or cover it up like Voris & Co. are making a mistake too. Better to acknowledge what clergy are doing and pray/fast for them right away.

"I am not a pessimist. I am not an optimist. I am a realist." Father Malachi Martin (1921-1999)

Prayerful

Pope Benedict XVI is a modernist who likes pomp and is far more subtle and intelligent than Pope Francis. Pope Benedict seems to have had the idea of fully wresting control of tradition from Saint Pius X and other overly traditional priestly societies, and Catholics in general, and assimilating it into the Modernist Novo Ordo Church. Pope Francis seems to be unable to appreciate this project. Pope Benedict is not genuinely traditional in any way or form. Read his recent works on Kindle, the mixing of orthodoxy and err choice characteristic of those who espouse em, choice.
Padre Pio: Pray, hope, and don't worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer.
