I found this link interesting.

It calculates how fast you read. My result was 307 WPM.

note: It is not a competition, just a curiosity. The most important thing is that you read in the first place.

edit: In other news.  Readers Digest is closing down.

I've often wondered how fast I read. My aunt reads extremely fast, but that's because she skims.
My Lord and my God.

412 for me.

Back in the day when I was obsessed with Tim Ferriss, I tried learning to speed read properly. Once you can do it properly, it's immensely helpful (depending on what you're reading that is)

190.  I guess I read like I eat, slowly so I can digest everything well.  I do have a tendency to go back and reread passages as well.  No wonder book shelf is full of books I mostly haven't read
- I'll get with the times when the times are worth getting with

Bonaventure

Although I just read normally like I would on the forums not trying to be as fast as possible, plus the words you don't see every day like 'Exchequer' (First time reading that word) likely slowed me down some more.

Oh well, bad carpenter always blames his tools so I'm blaming the test lol

506. That can't be right.
I am sorry for the times I have publicly criticized others on this forum, especially traditional Catholic religious, and any other scandalous posts and pray that no one reads or believes these false and ignorant statements.

401.  I stopped and reread a bit, so that slowed me down.

Reading fast is easy.  Reading and remembering is another thing.
The royal feast was done; the King
Sought some new sport to banish care,
And to his jester cried: "Sir Fool,
Kneel now, and make for us a prayer!"

The jester doffed his cap and bells,
And stood the mocking court before;
They could not see the bitter smile
Behind the painted grin he wore.

He bowed his head, and bent his knee
Upon the Monarch's silken stool;
His pleading voice arose: "O Lord,
Be merciful to me, a fool!"

404 and 100% comprehension.

But I don't know if that's accurate either, because I already knew a little about the topic before reading and that helped remember questions I wouldn't have remembered otherwise just from reading the passage. I did like how it was longer, though. That way there's more to average out.

I got 593 but I also know I read too fast so I slowed down a bit. Not kidding lol.

I do read fast and usually retain it pretty well, although I will re read certain sections if they are interesting e ough or if I didn't absorb it the first time.
