Great Free Tool for Homeschoolers

This shows the GPS positions of all commercial flights over the world.  It's free and a fantastic tool.

I don't homeschool myself, but I would think that some excellent and fun lessons could be taught about flight, altitude, compass headings, giant circles, if you acquired a compass or used a smart phone app.  Do planes divert around hurricanes and storms for example or fly over them?

A fascinating way to get kids interested in maps and geography, so that the next time the USA invades a small country your children, at least, know where it is.

They can also track Dad or Uncle Jim back from that business trip.  There are a myriad of learning possibilities.
