Back when the Trent forum started up, it was so much fun to guess who everyone was.  I'm enjoying it here too.

Where's that?

It was at http://www.trentforum.com but it is defunct.

When did it start up and how long did it run?

Not sure exactly when it began, but Trent became somewhat popular in mid-2011 while Fish Eaters experienced the scandal of one of their two mods running away with a schizoid-scammer, leaving the other mod (Mod #1's wife) high and dry.  The forum was closed for the space of a few days, and in that time many of us FE people looked to other places like CathInfo to find one another.  Little by little, people discovered several FE members - Vivace among them - had started a new forum recently, called The Council of Trent.  Many joined, but FE re-opened (sans Mod #1) and most returned to that site.  I posted at both forums after FE's re-opening.  I think Trent closed... later that year?  First half of 2012?

Hmm, I missed that. I remember the Laura affair. That was a doozy.

...which means, peanut may secretly be HIPSTER??

I do have a beard and smoke a pipe.  And I think craft beer is quite interesting.  But I did all that before it was cool.

Btw this thread is really creepy

Says the man with the creepiest avatar any of us has ever seen.   ;D

You don't think it's creepy to have a lion hiding in your study?!

He's a docile old boy.  Took a thorn out of his paw and all that.  He's a sort of "My cat Jeoffry" only larger.   ;D

I've always liked this Jerome and lion by Carpaccio better than the Van Eyck, but the avatar size doesn't really do it justice.

I like your taste. All the monks are scared of the lion, but not Jerome.

Wish I knew something about art so I could comment.  ;D

Allow me, then:
St. Jerome is all like, "HAI GUIZE LOOK WAT I BROUGHT BACK FOR US."  And the other monks are all like, "IT'S A LION GET IN THE CAR!"

...at which point St. Jerome calls them modernists  :P

And, knowing Jerome, probably a few even less savory things.   ;D

Ask her is she wears tattoos.

"Nothing is more miserable than those people who never failed to attack their own salvation. When there was need to observe the Law, they trampled it under foot. Now that the Law has ceased to bind, they obstinately strive to observe it. What could be more pitiable that those who provoke God not only by transgressing the Law but also by keeping it? But at any rate the Jews say that they, too, adore God. God forbid that I say that. No Jew adores God! Who say so? The Son of God say so. For he said: "If you were to know my Father, you would also know me. But you neither know me nor do you know my Father". Could I produce a witness more trustworthy than the Son of God?"  St. John Chrysostom  Sunday Homily
