Ah, that makes perfect sense; I grew up in a household where things like that just did not fly at all. My mother was all over us when it came to hygiene, table manners, etc. Recently, I rented my guest bedroom to a Spanish college kid and you'd think he was raised by wolves - so these pet peeves have been moving steadily higher up the list!
