However, I am a man not a woman!

I think it was this part of the introduction that threw off some Americans.

QuotePet Peeves...   ...bite their nails, or who have poor hygeine in general

American men are expected to possess those traits so only American women complain about them.

Ah, that makes perfect sense; I grew up in a household where things like that just did not fly at all. My mother was all over us when it came to hygiene, table manners, etc. Recently, I rented my guest bedroom to a Spanish college kid and you'd think he was raised by wolves - so these pet peeves have been moving steadily higher up the list!

Please know you do not come across effeminate.   Thank you for your graciousness regarding my mistake!   All the more so a mark of a Renaissance man!  You are quite exceptional and what a pleasure to have you here at SD.
They shall not be confounded in the evil time; and in the days of famine they shall be filled

Not for a nanosecond did I think you a woman. Not.
To board the struggle bus: no whining, board with a smile, a fake one will be found out and put off at next stop, no maps, no directions, going only one way, one destination. Follow all rules and you will arrive. Drop off at pearly gate. Bring nothing.

I knew ABlaine was a man. Hence my bienvenu in the masculine. I thought the rest of you didn't know how to make proper agreement!
