Bye guys.  I'll probably be back.  But this place isn't for me.  Not now.

Pax Christi
Ps 135

For he was mindful of us in our affliction: * for his mercy endureth for ever.
And he redeemed us from our enemies: * for his mercy endureth for ever.
Who giveth food to all flesh: * for his mercy endureth for ever.
Give glory to the God of heaven: * for his mercy endureth for ever.
Give glory to the Lord of lords: * for his mercy endureth for ever.

Hope you'll come back soon Mith.

"Nothing is more miserable than those people who never failed to attack their own salvation. When there was need to observe the Law, they trampled it under foot. Now that the Law has ceased to bind, they obstinately strive to observe it. What could be more pitiable that those who provoke God not only by transgressing the Law but also by keeping it? But at any rate the Jews say that they, too, adore God. God forbid that I say that. No Jew adores God! Who say so? The Son of God say so. For he said: "If you were to know my Father, you would also know me. But you neither know me nor do you know my Father". Could I produce a witness more trustworthy than the Son of God?"  St. John Chrysostom  Sunday Homily

Mith,

I think you should take a deep breath, log off, and go to sleep.  Maybe take a day or two to calm down, get away from the internet, and then come back when you've detoxed a little.

If you really don't feel like you belong here anymore, I'm sorry to see you go.  You're a smart guy and I've enjoyed reading and learning from your posts.

I do have an observation and you can take it however you want.  I've been reading your posts for the better part of 2 years (FE and here) and I've noticed the pendulum swinging to the far right extreme.  What I mean is that you're so smart that you're starting to overthink and even out-think some of the basics.  I don't have the time or energy to post examples, but I've noticed it on a number of occasions.  Just be careful friend.

You don't have to respond to any of this.

God Bless you and yours.

In Christ,
Chris
"All the good works in the world are not equal to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass because they are the works of men; but the Mass is the work of God. Martyrdom is nothing in comparison for it is but the sacrifice of man to God; but the Mass is the sacrifice of God for man." - St. John Vianney

Mith is maturing in his Faith. I am amazed.

Mith,

As I've said before, I've rad your posts for a while now when you were on Fisheaters.  I hope you reconsider and come back.

Plus, I was going to ask you to send me large size images of your "We be in ur Vatican" and "Pants?" memes.

I hope to see you back here again.
"One would be straying from the straight path were he to wish the altar restored to its primitive tableform; were he to want black excluded as a color for the liturgical vestments; were he to forbid the use of sacred images and statues in Churches...and lastly were he to disdain and reject polyphonic music or singing in parts, even where it conforms to regulations issued by the Holy See." - Ven. Pope Pius XII

Mith,

I do hope you come back, but I can understand why you need or want a break.  You're a great and valued poster though, and I'd hate for the forum to lose you.

God Bless you,

I've noticed it as well.

Never thought I'd see a day where KK and Mith would have a falling out.  :'(

erin is nice

Mith is just going the way of Stevus... Happens all the time, but hopefully he'll snap out of it before it has horrible consequences in his real life.

Fwiw, you are/were my favorite poster on the forum. Your posts often contained things I felt like saying but didn't for one reason or another. This is a sore loss for me. :( It's understandable, though. Peace be with you!

Yes, that's how I see it as well.

Take care, Mith. God be with you.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.

Very sad to see you go, Mith.  You've always been one of my favorite posters.  I hope you reconsider soon.

My Aunt, an LCWR nun, always speaks in these political terms when describing Catholics: left/right or conservative/liberal.

With regard to religion, it should be spoken in terms of faithful or unfaithful.  Sadly, my Aunt isn't an liberal nun, she is an unfaithful nun.

Mith seems to be in search of Truth, no matter how uncomfortable.  Bravo!

My first thought was that this was an April Fool's joke (because Mith seems a perfect fit to this particular forum), but then again, I haven't been keeping up with the forum lately, so I guess there's something going on that I don't know about.

Anyway, I'm very sorry to see you go, Mith, but I hope you'll benefit from your time away and that, eventually, you'll come back, because you're going to be greatly missed.

Yours in Christ,

Jim
"Is there no exception to the rule forbidding the administration of the Sacraments to baptized non-Catholics who are in good faith? In the case of those who are in good health, the prohibition is absolute; no dispute on this point is possible in view of the repeated explicit declarations of the Holy Office" (Rev. S. Woywod, A Practical Commentary on the Code of Canon Law, vol. I, sec. 625, p. 322ff.).

Contrast the above with the 1983 CIC, Can. 844 §3 & 4: "Catholic ministers administer the sacraments of penance, Eucharist, and anointing of the sick licitly to members of Eastern Churches which do not have full communion with the Catholic Church. . . .  If the danger of death is present or if, in the judgment of the diocesan bishop or conference of bishops, some other grave necessity urges it, Catholic ministers administer these same sacraments licitly also to other Christians not having full communion with the Catholic Church." — The phrase "properly disposed" does not save the canon from error, because the context shows that no conversion is expected on the part of non-Catholics ("manifest Catholic faith in respect to these sacraments" is the sole requirement).
