This sounds like fun!  I have more than enough grass clippings and leaves, and could get manure for my casting for my garden, not to mention fishing bait  ;)

Got my first worm "farm" started today.  Starting with just a 4 gallon bucket set-up, and we'll see where it goes from there. I'd like enough to produce at least a usable amount of garden fertilizer.  I love it - trash in, treasure out!

son and I tried a worm farm last summer.  We failed  :-\.  But, this summer, my husband built me three raised garden beds, and filled them with the cow manure and hay that have been composting in the barn the last 8 years.  Turns out we had a worm farm in the barn, all along.  I have more earth worms than I know what to do with.   Kids found an 11" earth worm last summer!  And, I've produced more garden produce than I ever have with the soil we are currently using.  I hope you are successful.  Earth worms are excellent for soil, and a sure sign your soil is healthy and fertile.

Once I get enough worms established I am thinking of planting them in my raised beds, I have more than enough leaves and clippings to keep them fed with.
