What brings you to SD?

Well, I a member on a well known Catholic board that tends to be a little rough on those who lean conservative.  I sense that this board will be ok with that.

Are you a member of other Internet fora?  If so, care to mention which one(s)?

CAF

Why did you choose your username and avatar?

The LOTR saved my life so to speak when I was in middle school long ago.  Escape when I needed it the most.

What is your state of life - single, married, religious, or still discerning?

I am single, and likely to remain so.  Why? Well I have a touch of aspergers, that and my radar usually zero's in on people who need rescuing.  That doesn't work for me to well.

Whereabouts do you live "in real life"? (be as specific or as general as you wish!)
The northern Atlanta suburbs

Personality type?  A busy type B.

Favorite books? LOTR, Catholic books, usually written by or about one of the Saints.  Non-fiction

Favorite movies?  The Lion in Winter

Favorite TV shows?
English murder shows like Foils War and Midsumer Murders

Favorite sports/teams  Falcons, Auburn, Notre Dame

Have any hobbies? Junk shops

Pet peeves: passive aggressive behavior / speech

Fun random fact about yourself

I love thunder storms, as long as I am not driving in one.

Welcome! :toth:

Asperger's is not an impediment to marriage.  My daughter who is an Aspie, married a fine Catholic man who loves her to death.  They will be married 8 years on the first of next month.

If it is God's will, you may meet someone.  All in His time.

Welcome to the forum! I am also a big fan of LOTR, both the books and the movies; at one point I had read the books so many times, that I couldn't look at them any more, but the movies bought me back to reading pieces of them. One day, I will read them one more time.

Are you getting ready for international bench press day, i.e. Monday? I know I am. Do you even lift, bro?

Welcome to the forum. May our Lord and Lady be with you.

Thanks for the welcome folks!

I stopped counting the number of times I read the LOTR after 8.  It seemed embarrassing at that point.  Then I too stopped.  I do still drag out the movies though.  I must say they did a good job save omitting the chapter when Gandalf confronts Sauruman at Orthanic and of course the parlay between the Captains of the West and Suron's Lieutenant at the Black gate of Mordor.

As far as lifting weights... the last time I did that was during Obama's first term!
