HK did me a solid

Writing from DC, pretty pooped.  Our own HK came down from DC to serve as sub Deacon at my daughter's wedding at St. Rita's.  It was a Solemn High Mass.  Ole HK delivered one heck of a chant for the epistle and the laity were blown away.  He also was highly organized and took care of us.  My daughter was using diocesan priests for priest and deacon.  They were green and needed help.  It's cool that they love the TLM and we are winning people to the cause, but they were green, and that is where HK stepped up.  He put his heart into it and it was truly a solemn and pious Mass.

So I'm publicly thanking him for his efforts.  If you need help with a schola or even need a subdeacon, send him a PM and he might be able to help.

It was also cool to have a trad meet up and enjoy a few beers.

How wonderful! (pictures or it didn't happen  ::) ) HK is the best.

Congratulations on your daughter's wedding.
In conclusion, I can leave you with no better advice than that given after every sermon by Msgr Vincent Giammarino, who was pastor of St Michael's Church in Atlantic City in the 1950s:

I was immensely grateful to be a part of it. The wedding reception was the most enjoyable one I've ever attended in my life. I can't remember the last time I saw a whole family with the Catholic faith so deeply ingrained in their DNA: dad, children, uncles, grandpa. james03's daughter is full of zeal and was very committed to the idea of the solemn nuptial Mass. Her brothers served the altar with me as MC and thurifer and did a great job keeping the newbie priests in line.

Also, you should have seen the father/daughter dance. james03 has got moves.

I thought that St. Rita's no longer allowed outside priests or non parishioners for weddings.

The priest who officiated the wedding and celebrated the Mass is a parochial vicar there. The groom is, I believe, a parishioner. So that's all covered.
