Bonaventure

It was awesome, Archer. It got pretty emotional at the end when everyone had to say something about my grandfather.

When he decided to tell us all a story, as he usually does, he told of when his parents walked six days distance to Mexico City during the Cristero War.

He's the humblest, holiest man I know, and has great humor.

Forsooth, he is a man of mystery.

True facts.  :lol:

If you REALLY want to know, PM me.  :lol:

He must have some incredible stories for sure.
"All the good works in the world are not equal to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass because they are the works of men; but the Mass is the work of God. Martyrdom is nothing in comparison for it is but the sacrifice of man to God; but the Mass is the sacrifice of God for man." - St. John Vianney

Talk about cranking up the suspense.

Eliza

I had a bonfire with family last night. Complete with hotdogs and s'mores.

My dad had the idea to put sliced strawberries and bananas in them. It was probably the best s'more I've ever had.

They're also good when you slather the graham cracker with peanut butter, chunky style.

Ever since I started this thread I've thought that there should be a not-fun thread. But there isn't, just like there isn't any dislike button on Facebook.

2)  What is that?

Some kind of bug that I have never seen before and which I trapped in a plastic bag.

Also we need a head-shaking NOPE smiley. Pleeeease.

Why would you trap it?  Why wouldn't you just kill it and vacuum it up?

Eesh.

Wasn't sure it it was a jumper and I had the bag handy. I put it in a catalog and smashed it with a shoe after the photo session.

Plus it's fun to gross other people out.

I've seen some of them flying around my room, I think they're getting in because we're installing an extractor fan.
The world is charged with the grandeur of God.
    It will flame out, like shining from shook foil;
    It gathers to a greatness, like the ooze of oil
Crushed. Why do men then now not reck his rod?
Generations have trod, have trod, have trod;
    And all is seared with trade; bleared, smeared with toil;
    And wears man's smudge and shares man's smell: the soil
Is bare now, nor can foot feel, being shod.

And for all this, nature is never spent;
    There lives the dearest freshness deep down things;
And though the last lights off the black West went
    Oh, morning, at the brown brink eastward, springs —
Because the Holy Ghost over the bent
    World broods with warm breast and with ah! bright wings.
