How many of these are used in England, Clau Clau?

I would say all of them, apart from: Chickenshit, Jack Shit (I would associate those more with USA - but they would be understood by Brits)
Hot Shit, The shit (I have not heard these much)

I reckon the British would just use Chicken or Scaredy Cat for cowardice.

Also it should be Tough shit (I would say most common of the above), not Tuff shit. Tough would be more polite and means the same thing.

One amusing English slang term is 'bollocks', which means rubbish, as opposed to 'the dogs bollocks' which means it is outstandingly good.

edit: I just noticed, Tough Shit in England does not mean 'take it or leave it', it is used to express a lack of sympathy with someone.

Why Russia was always going to win and why you can't sanction a country with a current account surplus:

QuoteWhen you stop to think about it we're talking about a country, Russia, that in 2023 exported more wheat than the 3rd largest producer (the US) harvested — approx. 60 million tonnes exported (RUS) vs. 47 million tonnes produced (US).

On the "sola scriptura" quotes from the Fathers; yes, I have seen many of those, and of course the Protestants take the quotes from the Fathers on the authority of S.S. As being equivalent to their novel idea of "Scriptura w.o. Church authority".
The Protestants take their erroneous theological principle and try to mine the Fathers for quotes that may support their position; which can easily be proved false.
But this has no relationship with the "Filioque" controversy; the two positions are mutually exclusive and incompatible; either the Holy Ghost proceeds from both the Father and the Son as from one principle or He only proceeds from the Father and not the Son. Both the Catholics and the Orthodox have affirmed their respective position as the true one and anathematized the contrary one. For both sides it is a matter of faith and heresy. The truth or falsehood of both Catholicism or Orthodoxy rests on the truth or falsehood of one or the other of the positions. If a Church or a group of churches (Orthodoxy) can teach a major falsehood about the nature of God, then it cannot be the true Church.
Any attempt to attenuate the doctrine in the name of a perceived charity, is very misguided.

Yes, "perceived charity" is a good way to put it. And such misplaced "understanding" flies in the face of dogmatic precision.

QuoteBut the movement, whether called conservative or orthodox or traditionalist or authentic, can be hard to define.

Typical ignorance by the author.  There is a slight sneering in the article, however it's not as bad as you would predict.

The important point is that the godless Left is starting to take notice of the rise of Catholicism.  The children of Gen-X have shown up, and it is getting noticed.  In 20 years, THEIR kids will show up as adults.  Also, THE driver of the return of Catholicism, Traditionalists, barely get a mention, except this:

QuoteIt ranges from Catholics who want more incense, to Latin Mass adherents who have brought back ancient prayers that mention "the perfidious Jew."

Fear.

If we don't go through God's Great Reset(TM), you can see how the Church would return.
