Quote from: Bernadette on May 27, 2023, 02:12:14 PMThe Complete Spiritual Doctrine of St. Therese of Lisieux, by Fr. Jamart, for kindle. $.99 I have a printed copy, but I've wanted a kindle copy for some time. I'm trying to track down a quote to the effect of: "Sins committed through weakness do not offend God."

Oooo!
Wasn't it you who gave me the print copy? Years ago...

I don't remember doing that. lol I'll have to search my hard drive.

And I just bought the Kindle version...

In conclusion, I can leave you with no better advice than that given after every sermon by Msgr Vincent Giammarino, who was pastor of St Michael's Church in Atlantic City in the 1950s:

"My dear good people: Do what you have to do, When you're supposed to do it, The best way you can do it,   For the Love of God. Amen"

Shakespeare After All, by Marjorie Garber. I remember my Shakespeare professor trying to pressure me into buying this textbook, thinking that I wouldn't be able to follow the plays in an unannotated version. But I had studied Shakespeare in high school, and was used to reading the language. So I got by with my old cloth-covered edition, and saved myself $80. Only $6 on kindle. :)

I ended up giving my copy away, since I just don't read much fiction overall, but I remember that book being an excellent commentary, and enjoyable enough to read on its own.

A very large and (hopefully) very durable backpack for an upcoming cross-country trip to visit my sister in July. Hopefully I'll never have to buy another bag again.

CCC 2nd Edition with my kindle points. I'd like to see what the current catechism has to say about the Real Presence.

This arrived today and it's fantastic. It's carry-on size (55 liters), but fits an entire week's worth of clothes, toiletries, and medications. And 2 bricks of espresso. It's the most comfortable backpack I've ever had. I wasn't sure if I would like it, but it's top notch.

A Bible cover for my Knox edition. I didn't feel comfortable with the idea of traveling with it unprotected in my bag. It's not the best leather in the world, but it does the job.

Fire Max 11. My love-hate relationship with Amazon continues. I adore this tablet. Size is perfect, supports a stylus, and has a very nice magnetic keyboard case. Absolutely perfect for my needs.

Found this enormous Kling child doll on Ebay for super cheap because of the repair to her chestplate. I'm over the moon. :)

Husband bought an excavator from an auction (sells used farm equipment), it's old but the new ones are too expensive. It will be useful in the future and we wouldn't need to hire someone to get things done. He needs to fix it up though.

Quilt pieces. I've run out of sewing to do on my trip, so I ordered two charm packs from Etsy. They'll arrive today. I'm going to make another "postcard" quilt, this time for me. It's like a postage stamp quilt, but with bigger pieces.

Really happy to find a 1958 Catholic Bible in a charity shop for €25 and it is in perfect condition.  Even better, it is an exact copy of the one my parents had in our house growing up so its really bringing me back to fond memories of filling in childrens names and looking at all the pictures.
