Hi everyone,

For family reasons we moved out of our beloved Chicago and are now in the greater Grand Rapids, MI area! Anyone here, or know of resources in the area for displaced trads?  ;D

Cheers~

I spent some time in Grand Rapids in 2020, and it seemed like a very nice area.

I know the SSPV has a couple of chapels in Michigan, but it looks like they're pretty far away from you in Traverse City and Bay City.

Society has chapel in area, I believe.

Sacred Heart used to have a TLM (Diocesan) but I have no idea if they still do or not.
The royal feast was done; the King
Sought some new sport to banish care,
And to his jester cried: "Sir Fool,
Kneel now, and make for us a prayer!"

The jester doffed his cap and bells,
And stood the mocking court before;
They could not see the bitter smile
Behind the painted grin he wore.

He bowed his head, and bent his knee
Upon the Monarch's silken stool;
His pleading voice arose: "O Lord,
Be merciful to me, a fool!"

Their website says they do. But there is no knowing how long it will last.  https://www.sacredheartgr.org/

Here is the SSPX one, while I'm looking things up:  https://fsspx.today/chapel/mi-grand-rapids/info/

Thank you all!

There are a surprising number of TLMs in Traverse City/Cedar! Especially considering how far north that is, I wouldn't have thought!

So far, I think that the Diocesan TLM at Sacred Heart is safe; we have a reasonably conservative Bishop here (Walkowiak) who doesn't seem to want to interfere. We are keeping our eyes on January 2022 though, and seeing how things play out. SSPX is also an option for us, although in Chicago we only attended Diocesan + ICKSP TLMs (at St. John Cantius & the Shrine of Christ the King).
