USA Vaccination status (entering from Europe)

At the moment, to enter the USA from Europe one needs to be vaccinated?

How is this actually enforced? Has anybody got anecdotes of the process.

I read an article which mentioned that in-effect the airlines enforce this by stopping one boarding the plane at the point-of-origin but at the US side they do not really check anything; the logistics would be mind blowing.

Trouble is if they did enforce it you would be barred from the US for a very long time

I heard you can fly to Mexico and cross by land and they don't check.  Still, that means going to Mexico and those towns on the border are hellholes.

The lowest risk would be to get a fake vaccine entry on the NHS database.  Probably cheap as chips now that there is less demand for them.  200 quid?
