Finally saw For Greater Glory today. I couldn't really keep track of the reasons behind things, especially the government's decisions, but the cristeros' conviction and dedication was definitely inspriring!

Calles wanted to diminish the power of the Church.

Ps 135

For he was mindful of us in our affliction: * for his mercy endureth for ever.
And he redeemed us from our enemies: * for his mercy endureth for ever.
Who giveth food to all flesh: * for his mercy endureth for ever.
Give glory to the God of heaven: * for his mercy endureth for ever.
Give glory to the Lord of lords: * for his mercy endureth for ever.

I've never heard that, but he was an atheist.

Jews are actually some of the fiercest atheists out there.

After Voxxpop posted a clip from Ghost World in a different thread, I decided to check it out - what a slice of life time capsule!

It is a great movie. A big part they left out at the end was to point out that once the Cristeros handed over their guns to the judeo-masonic government due to the "arreglos" (arrangements/accord), the government killed more Cristeros and priests in that time than during the 3 year war.

The only reason the Cristeros handed their guns to the judeo-masonic government was because Pope Pius XI gave the order to the Mexican bishops.
Due to misinformation he (the pope) received from the American bishops who were pushing the envelope with his holiness to order the Mexican bishops to tell their flock to sign the agreement with the government and hand over their weapons.

Sad times. Beautiful movie!! The best movie of 2012.

If you can, pickup this book (actually it's a 3 part set) from Jean Meyer
"Nothing is more miserable than those people who never failed to attack their own salvation. When there was need to observe the Law, they trampled it under foot. Now that the Law has ceased to bind, they obstinately strive to observe it. What could be more pitiable that those who provoke God not only by transgressing the Law but also by keeping it? But at any rate the Jews say that they, too, adore God. God forbid that I say that. No Jew adores God! Who say so? The Son of God say so. For he said: "If you were to know my Father, you would also know me. But you neither know me nor do you know my Father". Could I produce a witness more trustworthy than the Son of God?"  St. John Chrysostom  Sunday Homily

Vertigo - I've lost count of the number of times I've seen the movie, but I think this was the first time on Blu-ray.

House of Dark Shadows from 1971. Very good. Not as good and cooky as the show though way better than that Tim Burton Crapfest.
