I don't have a bank account per se in the States, I have a debit card with Wells Fargo Bank to which my pay is automatically deposited and I'm charged nothing unless I'm stupid enough to use a 'non-linked' cash machine for withdrawals.

Any specific reason? Or just a reminder of a good practice?

I usually log in every couple days just to make sure everything is accurate.  You can never be too careful these days.

Edited: spelling.

Nothing specific, but as you said, a reminder. If there are any problems, a regular check can clamp down on the.

I'm often stupid enough to do that. I think I've frittered away hundreds of dollars over the years.
