Also, where's Taylor? He blocked me on Twitter when I talked mad shit about his Calvinist heresy of predestinationism. Come on, Doc. Let's have a hallmark movie moment where you return to your hometown.

If you're talking about who I think you're talking about, he's a pretty pathetic normie who gave up Tradition for Novus Ordo academia.
I do profess to be no less than I seem, to serve him truly

converse with him that is wise and says little, to fear
judgment, to fight when I cannot choose, and to eat no fish.

Hard to blame him.

Soft science PhD in a very limited field. A lot of kids.

Needed to pay the bills. The e Trad talking head space is already a glut.

I don't think so but Michael Lofton was. lol
In conclusion, I can leave you with no better advice than that given after every sermon by Msgr Vincent Giammarino, who was pastor of St Michael's Church in Atlantic City in the 1950s:

"My dear good people: Do what you have to do, When you're supposed to do it, The best way you can do it,   For the Love of God. Amen"

Quote from: Luke 14A certain man made a great supper, and invited many.  17 And he sent his servant at the hour of supper to say to them that were invited, that they should come, for now all things are ready.  18 And they began all at once to make excuse. The first said to him: I have bought a farm, and I must needs go out and see it: I pray thee, hold me excused.  19 And another said: I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to try them: I pray thee, hold me excused.  20 And another said: I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.

Laymen shouldn't choose dumb degree paths like Theology. That's a start.

Depends on man. If his family is of means or he gets a scholarship, it'd be a great pre law degree. Or, again, a get in, get degree with no debt and then go work for family business, why not? But to get a theology degree with a -100k net worth and no real career plan after 4 years does seem foolish.
