Priest forgot to give me a penance

A couple of years ago I read that one has to ask for penance in case that we are not given one. Is relieving to read that one doesn't need to worry about the lack of penance. If only I knew that some months ago.

Can you recall the book you'd read, Cesar?

It wasn't in a book. It was in a spanish Catholic forum.

Sorry for the presumption, there!  Was worried somebody'd printed it in a pre-V2 manual or something.

Well, the one who wrote that was a trad. But I don't know where he learned that.
