No surgery today. Just bunches of imaging testing. No when I have surgery they will keep me in hospital for 7 days. Surgery is Monday the 27th. It will be a difficult long surgery, because of the aneurysm.

How are you feeling about the surgery/recovery/etc.?  Pretty confident?  Nervous?  (Probably both confident and nervous and everything in-between...)

:grouphug:

I am somewhat scared Lydia. As I understand it, they will remove 2 muscles and a rib, and do a bypass on the aneurysm using artery from my leg. Yes, this scares me, but I am told I have a very good specialist who I found trustworthy and kind. Not big headed at all which really would not matter as long as he knew what he was doing. It's just nice that he seems to be a good man, too. Feb 27 is surgery date. Don't know time yet.I try to not focus on this. Just makes me anxious.

Come on, all you sleepy heads. Get your coffee and make a good day of this Weds. It only comes around once every 7 days. Get some clothes on and MOVE!

Ok. This is turning into a monologue. Not that I mind, but where are you Ches, Martin, Red, Akavit, MLG?

I'm here! Earlier than usual.

[Matthew 8:26]  And Jesus saith to them: Why are you fearful, O ye of little faith? Then rising up he commanded the winds, and the sea, and there came a great calm.

[Job  38:1-5]  Then the Lord answered Job out of a whirlwind, and said: [2] Who is this that wrappeth up sentences in unskillful words? [3] Gird up thy loins like a man: I will ask thee, and answer thou me. [4] Where wast thou when I laid up the foundations of the earth? tell me if thou hast understanding. [5] Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?

Jesus, Mary, I love Thee! Save souls!

That sounds like a fairly major operation to me.  It is only natural that you would be at least a little scared. Thank goodness you have a very good specialist who is also a good man!

We will all be praying and God and Our Lady will watch over you. They are focusing on this, so you don't have to. :pray2: :pray2: :pray2:

I'm sorry, Carleen, I don't blame you for being somewhat scared.  I'm happy to hear you'll be in good hands with your specialist, though, and that he made such a positive impression on you.  Honestly, I think it can matter when a specialist is not big headed -- to me, that can indicate someone who knows even moreso what they're doing, and who won't be too prideful to call in another opinion, or some backup, if necessary.  Well, I'll stop there -- I don't want to add to any anxiety.  I bet before you know it all this will be come and gone and you'll be out enjoying the spring flowers and whatnot!

Thanks Lydia. You are a peach. And I am just trying to focus on the fix. I will be in there for hours and my only job is to sleep. I think I can manage that. There may be several surgeons in there, so I don't think mine will be short on help. Just trying to keep my eyes on the prize. A hand arm and shoulder that functions well again. Plus proper blood flow. Maybe more energy and putting in my normal garden again this year.

The hospital is so huge I hope I can find my way to where the surgery takes place! May God bless you and all that takes   the time to say a quick prayer for me that day. You are thoughtful and kind lydia.

Carleen, it looks like you might need this over the next little while:

I'll be on standby for prayers and emergency hugs.

Good morning!  This is early for me; I think I'll be settling down for my morning nap now. I've been trying to cut down on coffee (Dr's advice).

Morning! The weather's been great this week, so I walked to Mass on Tuesday and today. There's a church on a sort of sketchy street that I can get to with 7 minutes driving or 35 minutes walking. Gives me time to pray and enjoy the sunrise.  :)

*the Mass is NO, but it's said reverently and it's better than not going to Mass at all.
