I've been lurking for a while and decided I might as well join. We traditional Catholics need all the support that we can get from each other these days!

I'm a theology student with plans to become a canonist. You may check out my Substack (link in my profile) if you're interested; I mostly write in English and sometimes in French, largely focusing on issues involving the intersection between theology and law.

I'm also a singer, pianist, and composer; I mostly write sacred music.

Thanks for letting me join, and I look forward to edifying conversations and making some friends here!

Lynne

Welcome! I will check out your substack blog.
In conclusion, I can leave you with no better advice than that given after every sermon by Msgr Vincent Giammarino, who was pastor of St Michael's Church in Atlantic City in the 1950s:

"My dear good people: Do what you have to do, When you're supposed to do it, The best way you can do it,   For the Love of God. Amen"

Welcome to the Forum!
I can guarantee that you will make friends here and have edifying conversations (most of the time).
"The World Must Conform to Our Lord and not He to it." Rev. Dennis Fahey CSSP

"My brothers, all of you, if you are condemned to see the triumph of evil, never applaud it. Never say to evil: you are good; to decadence: you are progess; to death: you are life. Sanctify yourselves in the times wherein God has placed you; bewail the evils and the disorders which God tolerates; oppose them with the energy of your works and your efforts, your life uncontaminated by error, free from being led astray, in such a way that having lived here below, united with the Spirit of the Lord, you will be admitted to be made but one with Him forever and ever: But he who is joined to the Lord is one in spirit." Cardinal Pie of Potiers

Bonjour Au contraire !

From an (aspiring, "I'll get to it someday....") French student.

Does your interest in the French language extend to their history as well?

Yes, but I need to step up my game when it comes to research in that area. Studying French in a modern university usually entails listening to professors complain about alleged Islamophobia and denigrate France's Catholic past.

Bonjour Mademoiselle   :toth:

My French is worse than my English, but it helped me to make myself understood in the Southern (Capestang) years ago.

Je suis espagnol.

Bienvenue!
