Welcome to the forum and welcome back to the Church!
In conclusion, I can leave you with no better advice than that given after every sermon by Msgr Vincent Giammarino, who was pastor of St Michael's Church in Atlantic City in the 1950s:

Welcome. Eastern PA I presume? I love college football, too. Too bad i hate watching it being that commercials and all the other ancillary woke Media garbage. I am a Big Ten guy through and through, with OSU, PSU, Indiana, Wisconsin, etc.being the core teams. I like SEC, too(not Alabama or UK).

How many pullups can you do?

Lol Heinrich switching from weights questions to callisthenics ones. 😅

Edit: that's a good thing. Calisthenics are the goat.

Welcome to the forum! I hope you like it here and you find what you are seeking. Also, welcome back to the Faith!
"The World Must Conform to Our Lord and not He to it." Rev. Dennis Fahey CSSP

"My brothers, all of you, if you are condemned to see the triumph of evil, never applaud it. Never say to evil: you are good; to decadence: you are progess; to death: you are life. Sanctify yourselves in the times wherein God has placed you; bewail the evils and the disorders which God tolerates; oppose them with the energy of your works and your efforts, your life uncontaminated by error, free from being led astray, in such a way that having lived here below, united with the Spirit of the Lord, you will be admitted to be made but one with Him forever and ever: But he who is joined to the Lord is one in spirit." Thank you all for the warm welcome.

@Heinrich
Central PA actually, deep in Penn State country. I'm of the opinion that every Catholic college football fan should pull for the Fighting Irish! I'm a 4th generation fan myself so it's also a deep family tradition. That said I certainly prefer the Big Ten over the SEC.

And unfortunately my weightlifting days are behind me. I used to be able to throw some good weight around but injuries prevent me from doing much heavy lifting these days.

Had to go deep into the well to pull that one up, didn't ya?

I don't have much more to say considering how bad Notre Dame is this season.

Do you venerate King Alfred? I understand he had a minor cultus in the Middle Ages. Maybe you could provide some good reading on the topic.

That would be interesting. It reminds me of the forgotten cultus of Charlemagne.

"For there are no works of power, dearly-beloved, without the trials of temptations, there is no faith without proof, no contest without a foe, no victory without conflict. This life of ours is in the midst of snares, in the midst of battles; if we do not wish to be deceived, we must watch: if we want to overcome, we must fight." - St. Leo the Great
