I was looking through a list of comic books to be published later this year, when I noticed this title slated for release on September 24, 2013:

Ring of Roses, by Das Petrou and John Watkiss.

Reading the lone customer review on Amazon.com (as there was no publisher's description provided), Ring of Roses was first published in a four issue limited series in the early 1990s and set in an alternate reality 20th century England - an alternate reality in which James II had successfully kept his crown and England remained Catholic up to present times.

Think I'll check it out in September.

Anyone else's interest piqued?

This sounds completely badass, especially for someone like me who studies the British Restoration and eighteenth century.  I've spent far too much time thinking about what would have happened if James II hadn't abdicated, so maybe this will help soothe my immense historical disappointment somewhat.   ;)

Plus:  crossbows.

Also, somebody should tell HK about this.  Seems like the kind of thing that would interest him.

This sounds like something FE's Mr. T would have made.

I really liked his Lives of the Saints series - and I've been meaning to order the hardcopy of it...
