Greetings from a new subscriber, refugee of another forum where defending the Church was an optional activity.  SD was recommended by someone whom I respect for knowledge, writing ability and orthodoxy.  I am a convert, having been raised a heathen, grew up an agnostic (at best) and never saw the inside of a church other than attending a wedding or two until mid 30s.  I credit the Holy Spirit for my conversion although looking back I was a rather slow learner.  There were many hints along the way.  I'll get more acquainted with SD before posting extensively.  I love learning about my Catholic faith

Welcome!

I think you will find more than a few refugees from that other forum where the Faith cannot be defended.

Hi.  I'm new here too so I feel a little odd being on the welcome wagon lol.  Is it too forward or personal to ask which forum you fled?  It won't hurt my feelings if you'd prefer not to answer.  I've been on IA, which was great for a long time then took a nose dive.  I was on FE for a while but was never a fan.  Maybe we have crossed paths

"My brothers, all of you, if you are condemned to see the triumph of evil, never applaud it. Never say to evil: you are good; to decadence: you are progess; to death: you are life. Sanctify yourselves in the times wherein God has placed you; bewail the evils and the disorders which God tolerates; oppose them with the energy of your works and your efforts, your life uncontaminated by error, free from being led astray, in such a way that having lived here below, united with the Spirit of the Lord, you will be admitted to be made but one with Him forever and ever: But he who is joined to the Lord is one in spirit."
