General News and Discussion / Re: Israel hits Iran

QuoteIranian officials and outlets are claiming that all explosions heard tonight are due to interceptions and that no explosions have occurred "on the ground"

Looks like a weak face saving attack. Hopefully Putin and the US worked out a deal. Behind the scenes Iran gets to sell a bunch of oil. Developing.

Zients, chief of staff (de facto President)
Merrick Garland, Attorney General, head of Justice Dept.
Anthony Blinken, Sec. of State (Israel defense agency)
Mayorkis, DHS (NKVD)
Avril Haines, National Security Agency (Stasi spying)

That's the main ones, but the admin is lousy with them.

General News and Discussion / Israel hits Iran
Last post by james03 - Today at 10:15:58 PM
Not much detail.  Israeli missiles  went into Iran.  No damage reports yet.  I know that Putin had talked to Iran, so this may be an "allowed" face saving strike.

On the other hand, Iran said they will hit back hard if Israel attacks Iran, and Israel just did it.  If Iran hits Israel hard now, we will have a major Mid East war, and likely WW3.

In the meantime, fill up your gas tanks, because crude oil prices are fixin to go bonkers.  Let's hope that's the worst of it.

It began in Kiev.

Quote from: Greg on Today at 07:37:08 PMIf Kennedy Hall is correct, we would be dealing with the rare case of the lying sociopathic monster looking to damage the SSPX who, rather strangely, was obedient to his superiors and prepared to live for 5 years under house arrest and perform clerical duties when before he had had more power and responsibility as district superior of a huge country.  Then go to a French court and plead guilty.   He gains nothing by lying about warning them.

That is basically what Hall claims:

QuoteWhat a shocker, the sociopathic pedophile who lived a double life for decades was dishonest!

The Coffee Pot / Re: Paypal dispute

I've escalated the dispute to PayPal. The seller submitted a long diatribe full of incorrect information. I'm out of patience.

That still leaves the problem that they appointed a lying sociopathic child rapist to be the district superior in two major countries.

Don't they have any sort of character assessment or psychological testing before appointing district superiors?  They should, since these men have power and can make decisions that affect the careers of other junior priests. They are often in charge of priests older than them.

If a CEO screwed up making an appointment like that he would be forced to resign.  With the best will in the world if Fellay does not fall on his sword and disappear into very quiet retirement then something is amiss.

It would appear that Rostand only raped boys in France.  He is not accused of raping US and/or Canadian children.  By now one would imagine he would be accused of such and that SSPX had made extensive, exhaustive internal investigations as to every summer camp and the like that he attended in those years in those two countries.  So it is possible that his crimes are limited to his 30s and to France.  He was ordained aged 28.

Rostand has also remained a priest and obeyed his superiors.  He has not tried to escape justice.  If Kennedy Hall is correct, we would be dealing with the rare case of the lying sociopathic monster looking to damage the SSPX who, rather strangely, was obedient to his superiors and prepared to live for 5 years under house arrest and perform clerical duties when before he had had more power and responsibility as district superior of a huge country.  Then go to a French court and plead guilty.   He gains nothing by lying about warning them.

Yes, I would appreciate that, because the original arguments are being somewhat misrepresented here.

I'm not sure how to do it. Perhaps @Kaesekopf knows how to merge posts to this thread from another thread.

Yes, and Cekada references that:

"A wicked husband still maintains his headship over the wife before God and his "domestic and paternal authority.  He has the right to say yes or no to ice chips and Jello, unless and until an ecclesiastical or civil court, for a grave and just reason, legitimately impedes him from exercising his right."

The ice chips and Jell-O reference would only be for someone who could swallow.

The Bookstore / Re: Podcast Interview Regardin...
Last post by Michael Wilson - Today at 05:11:45 PM
Dear Mr. Smith,
very nice interview; I learned a lot of Tolkien from it.I like your take about the legendary portrayal of the creatures of the first age. The exaggerating of the power of the army of the dead and how it would have been useful in the assault on Mordor; Gimly expressed the same opinion in the movie! Also, on the "allegory" angle: he expressly wanted to deny that it was an allegory on W.W.II. I recall that Tolkien also did not like Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia, as he thought it was too "preachy" i.e. Too explicitly Christian and got away too much from allegorical concept.
On "Divergent"; I read the first two books; the first one was very good as a story and held my interest; the second kind of meandered too much; and I only read reviews of the third one, which most fans panned as not really being cohesive with the original premise of the book.
I'm surprised how young you are and that you are not smoking a pipe, and sending smoke rings through each other; weren't dressed in Grey either....
I hope other members will listen to this as it is very enjoyable.
