Oh, Maryslittlegarden, if it makes you feel better, I am fasting, which means zero food today!  I will be OK in a couple of hours, LOL!
In the meantime, I will keep drooling over these delicious plates of food! They all look like yummy comfort food!

But since VETUS & FLEUR cannot possibly eat all of that food, we should help them out NEXT YEAR, what say you?    Lets help them!

Yes, by all means! Vetus and I actually split that plate of cuttlefish stew. The portions in Portugal are generous.

I think this was my favorite dish that we had, and the only one I came close to finishing, it was so good. I don't know if you can see it in the photo, but there was a lot of garlic on that steak! The combination of flavors was simple but delicious.

I find the name funny, bitoque com ovo a cavalo, steak with an egg riding horseback. 

It's a very popular dish that you can find on most menus.

I think this was my favorite dish that we had, and the only one I came close to finishing, it was so good. I don't know if you can see it in the photo, but there was a lot of garlic on that steak! The combination of flavors was simple but delicious.

about the name.
"You mean, I am going to eat a steak on a horse, LOL!" Bistec a Caballo.
And you guessed right, CABALLO=horse. And Bistec=Steak.

I have had it with a ton of garlic, as well as with a ton of onions. Accompanied by
avocado slices, rice & Patacones.  Patacones, as you might be aware are
fried green plantains. They are thick. They kind of resemble the picture you
posted of the fried cod fish (Pataniscas de bacalhau)  They also serve this
dish with thinly sliced green plantains (like small coins/chips). 

Now, I am hungry & craving this dish! Thanks, FLEUR!!

I love fried plantains! I had an aunt who used to serve them with everything, even for breakfast. They were so good! I can't remember the last time I had them though. 

Now we're both suffering from food nostalgia!
