Gonna be completely honest here. I don't know a whole lot about the Dutch aside from that they like cheese. And that they foolishly challenged the Royal Navy for naval/economic supremacy in the (17th century???...been awhile since I read my naval history books) and failed. Cool stuff.

So I'm definitely a bit interested in learning more about the Dutch culture.

Not foolishly challenged the Royal Navy but successfully.  At one point they sailed right up the Thames and set the British navy aflame.  Admiral de Ruyter revolutionized naval tactics with the single line of battle (there's lots about him on YT). And the Dutch East India company dwarfed even today's multinational corporations comparatively speaking.  Despite practically no natural resources- apart from farm land, even lumber for their fleets had to be imported, part of what caused their downfall of fortune in the Anglo war - what this tiny nation accomplished is astounding.

That's OK.  I'm extremely behind on my reading as well.

"The World Must Conform to Our Lord and not He to it." Rev. Dennis Fahey CSSP

"My brothers, all of you, if you are condemned to see the triumph of evil, never applaud it. Never say to evil: you are good; to decadence: you are progess; to death: you are life. Sanctify yourselves in the times wherein God has placed you; bewail the evils and the disorders which God tolerates; oppose them with the energy of your works and your efforts, your life uncontaminated by error, free from being led astray, in such a way that having lived here below, united with the Spirit of the Lord, you will be admitted to be made but one with Him forever and ever: But he who is joined to the Lord is one in spirit." Cardinal Pie of Potiers

Sure, I come from a nominally Protestant family basically only my mum was religious though and I was raised mostly an atheist by my dad. I have always been interested in religion and especially Christianity/Catholicism. I tried out some churches and religions until I decided that Catholicism should be true. It was difficult to find a proper parish tho because the Dutch Catholic Church is in shambles. Luckily I found Traditional Catholicism and all otherwise I don't know what I would've done.
