A podcast about the Heaven's Gate cult. Absolutely chilling. It's amazing what people will do when they feel like they have no purpose in life. It makes me wish that everyone could be Catholic.

An excellent parody, and hilarious. (Clean as well)
All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost.

"Am I not here, I who am your mother?" Mary to Juan Diego

"Let a man walk ten miles steadily on a hot summer's day along a dusty English road, and he will soon discover why beer was invented." G.K. Chesterton

I don't think any Catholic should listen to Black Sabbath
To be clear, I think you're right. I just get a kick out of the fact that they have sn unironically pro Catholic song in their back catalog. If you look up the lyrics you'll see what I mean.

Catholics, do not listen to black Sabbath in general.

My guilty pleasure is protestant music of 17th and early 18th centuries. I think it is very beautiful and it uplifts the soul to God, regardless of its heretical origins. Catholic music from that same period is also very beautiful, but Lutherans really did have the best musicians: Bach, Praetorius, Pachelbel, Buxtehude, Böhm, Krebs...

Also, Mozart was a freemason, so I guess there are worse choices for music one can make...

I don't think I've ever heard anything more beautiful. Their pretty faces are a mere distraction and annoyingly so. What voices!
I couldn't link the video properly as it gave me an error. Trust me, it's a good video.

I noticed this back in the Seventies when I was a teenager. If you paid attention carefully to the lyrics, they actually had a Christian message.

However, no one paid careful attention to the lyrics. The media perception that they were encouraging satanism became the reality. As Marshall McLuhan said, "The medium is the message." They had created an occult medium, and the specifics of the words were irrelevant. The group decided to go along and ride the wave, and so you end up with Ozzy Osbourne biting the head off a bat on stage.

So you are right on both points -- yes, it's ironic that Black Sabbath had unironically pro-Catholic lyrics, but no, Catholics should not listen to Black Sabbath.
