My aunt recently told me that if we move in with my uncle Tom, I should keep all of my stuff boxed up until we can paint the house with Killz to get rid of the smoke smell. Will keeping my stuff boxed work, do you think, or will the cigarette smoke smell get into the cardboard boxes?

It's in upholstered furniture, carpet, curtains, blinds ductwork, etc.

Lol. No way. I have bad lungs and the thought of purposely inhaling smoke makes me cringe.

Exactly. I don't think that keeping my stuff boxed up will make any difference.

My aunt has already told him that if we move in, he'll have to smoke outside. She smokes outside, herself. She can't stand the smell of smoke in the house. He's ok with this.

If you seal your stuff in plastic bags it will.  Get the ziplock type.

I'd sprinkle baking soda or coffee beans in the bags for good measure, both absorb odours
