Has anyone ever converted a Jew to traditional Catholicism? How can it be done?

Rehashing OT fulfilled prophecy won't do a thing to convert a single jew, Xavier. Do you honestly think that jews are unfamiliar with these prophecies or don't have their standard ways of explaining them away?

They jews have been blinded that they may not see. This is the LORD's doing. Your "clear proofs" have not and will not convert a single one of them.

Just give em a bunch of Bibles, that ought to do the trick

Do you have any recommendations on how to do this?

I know for sure how it can't be done: by preaching Vatican II Catholicism where the Jews are saved in their own infidelity, without baptism and the profession of the true faith. Kasper was a master at this and so was Benedict XVI.
"For there are no works of power, dearly-beloved, without the trials of temptations, there is no faith without proof, no contest without a foe, no victory without conflict. This life of ours is in the midst of snares, in the midst of battles; if we do not wish to be deceived, we must watch: if we want to overcome, we must fight." - St. Leo the Great

Maybe. Plenty of jews don't seem to know anything about their own religion, and some attend Catholic schools. Everyone needs to know the basics at some point.

I have known of exactly two Jewish converts to the N.O.  One of those did not keep the new faith.  I know, and know of, several Jews interested in traditional Catholicism; some of those converted and so far have not returned to Judaism.

As to "how it can be done" is with a genuine understanding the fulfillment of OT prophecies regarding the Messiah.  Despite the general familiarity with Scripture among most Jews, there is still an enormous lack of understanding about what the promised Messiah would and would not do, and what "signs" were to accompany his arrival and kingship.

I have not converted a Jew nor have I ever tried. There's not a specific Jew that I have in mind. I would imagine that it would be extra difficult to convert a Jew due to their innate hatred of Christ, which is why I'm interested in taking on this challenge. Do you have any recommendations on how to do this?

How do you convert anyone? You can't.

I converted by seeing the way God worked in the lives of some Catholic friends God put in my life.  He also miraculously healed my wife from something many years ago in a way that can't be explained otherwise.  That compelled me to seek out information on the church and to question what I was taught.

Why assume that all Jewish people hate Christ and Christianity?  My first exposure to Christianity was singing Christmas carols in public school, especially the more religious ones.  I always wished I could celebrate Christmas ever since I was a little boy.  Even now I could listen to Christmas music all year and never get tired of it.

I'm not sure if I would have been interested in Catholicism if I had seen threads like this.

My mom is in the process of preparing to join the Maronite Catholic church.  I tried very hard for years to "convert" her but it just pushed her away.  I had to completely entrust her soul to God because it's His work not mine.  People aren't "challenges" or projects.

Thanks for the thread. I am new here. I am an ethnically-Jewish man in his early forties. I was baptized this past April and attend an SSPX chapel.

I attended Hebrew School, had a Bar Mitzvah, and was atheistic nearly all my life. I never had animosity to Christ, white people, or Christians, as is characteristic of the Jewish people generally. I am an anomaly. I actually felt right at home when I used to attend swimming classes after school at a seminary junior college in which I was the only Jewish boy there.

I had been curious about the JQ and Holocaust discussion since eight years old, sometimes even challenging older people and teachers on why we were expelled and punished repeatedly throughout history. I never got reasonable answers until 2002, in my early twenties. There is a really no facet of the JQ I don't know.

Although he is no longer with the SSPX, I regularly consume Bishop Richard Williamson's content. He inspired me to convert and I consider him my foremost spiritual leader.

There is more to my story I can possibly tell at a later time.

Welcome BG.

I think it is significant that you and Chestertonian and I all felt some sort of affinity for Christianity starting in childhood.  He mentioned his attraction through Christmas carols.  I was drawn by the character of Aslan, a Christ figure in the children's series, The Chronicles of Narnia.  It really brings home that this is a work of God rather than something done by people.

I think it would be edifying and instructive for us to hear that story eventually.
