Contents of Ursuline Convent for Auction - Alton, Illinois

I spotted this the other day and it's to take place at 5:00pm on the 10th of this month.  Unfortunately, I'm too busy to get over there otherwise I'd go.  It looks like there are some good statues and really nice furniture.

It is too bad it is too far for me, I would gladly go and pick up some of these, it's hard to find quality religious art.

Too far for me too, but man I wish it were closer.

What happened to Steven?  He could take a bike over to there.
The royal feast was done; the King
Sought some new sport to banish care,
And to his jester cried: "Sir Fool,
Kneel now, and make for us a prayer!"

The jester doffed his cap and bells,
And stood the mocking court before;
They could not see the bitter smile
Behind the painted grin he wore.

He bowed his head, and bent his knee
Upon the Monarch's silken stool;
His pleading voice arose: "O Lord,
Be merciful to me, a fool!"

Another sad result of Vatican II and it's "new advent" and "springtime of the Church".

Wish I had seen this earlier; I would've let him know via Facebook.

Our local Ursuline convent closed last year. I asked one of the sisters what was happening to all of the old books and whatever else and she said that they had already donated most of it. I had been hoping to be allowed to look around, but I inquired too late, I guess. She recovered a couple of things that now reside in the school, but I'll never know what became of the rest of it.
