Part of me says "yeah!" when I see Govs. Abbott and DeSantis send busloads of migrants to leftist cities (and to Kamala's doorstep, and to Obama's vacation enclave). But part of me suspects that there might be a reckoning of sorts with regard to how traditionalist Catholics should assess the situation. I argue often with those close to me who disagree with the reality that this situation is a cruel and onerous imposition on border towns, and it is a cynical and politically-driven globalist manipulation of the migrants as pawns themselves.

What is a Catholic to think about this?

(And "Migrants' Vineyard" ironically is a bit evocative of Gospel vineyard parables, no? https://twitter.com/NautPoso/status/1570467620935335936)
Nisi Dominus custodierit civitatem, frustra vigilat qui custodit eam (Psalm 126:2).
Benedicite, montes et colles, Domino: benedicite universa germinantia in terra, Domino (Daniel 3:75-76).
Put not your trust in princes: In the children of men, in whom there is no salvation (Psalm 145:2-3).

Yes, it is the command of God to love your neighbor, and God is clear He considers migrants etc to be included as neighbors in the Commandment. Jesus Christ Our Lord would later make this even more clear and explicit, to Jews who looked down on Samaritans, Gentiles etc.

Exodus 22:21 "Thou shalt not molest a stranger, nor afflict him: for yourselves also were strangers in the land of Egypt. 22You shall not hurt a widow or an orphan."

God Bless.
Bible verses on walking blamelessly with God, after being forgiven from our former sins. Some verses here: https://dailyverses.net/blameless

"[2] He that walketh without blemish, and worketh justice:[3] He that speaketh truth in his heart, who hath not used deceit in his tongue: Nor hath done evil to his neighbour: nor taken up a reproach against his neighbours.(Psalm 14)

"[2] For in many things we all offend. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man."(James 3)

"[14] And do ye all things without murmurings and hesitations; [15] That you may be blameless, and sincere children of God, without reproof, in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation; among whom you shine as lights in the world." (Phil 2:14-15)

All well and good, but my question is more in the other direction. Govs. Abbott and DeSantis are both Catholic, far more so than Biden and Pelosi. The migrants, given their origins, are likely at least baptized Catholics*. But the powers-that-be who are to blame -- both in the US and south of the border -- hardly care for the well-being of the migrants, and they are also using this phenomenon as a way to undermine existing communities, many of which tend to vote conservative. (The same can be said of the Sant'Egidio mivement in Italy.)

How does one oppose such actions of the modern state that are so clearly wrong?

There are likely some current Catholic thinkers who have tried to deal with this issue from a more traditional Scriptural perspective. Perhaps I should move this over to "Ask a Traditionalist".
[* So "Great Replacement", if defined narrowly re Muslims, is less applicable.]

Quote from: Exodus 22:21
21 ?You shall not wrong a stranger or oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

Yes, however there is also -

Quote from: Matthew 7:6
6 ?Do not give dogs what is holy; and do not throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under foot and turn to attack you.

You need to determine which is which. The first question you need to ask is why are they coming on mass? What do they expect to gain? How is one supposed to deal with it? Imagine it on the micro scale and it's your home. A stranger or a family comes to the door seeking some food or perhaps some shelter for the night... sure, especially if they are a humble Christian family... now what about 30 people and 13 families at your door? You don't know who's who and can't speak the language. What are you going to do, should I throw Exodus 22:21 in your face? Invite them all in to stay in your home? What if some of them are dealing drugs, part of the cartel or are lying to you etc.

These answers will help to determine the correct response, and yes, they should absolutely be sent to leftist cities and wealthy democrat run areas (Barak Obama, Biden, Oprah etc etc... tear down your walls!), absolutely, after all, those people want them crossing illegally on mass so what's the problem?

How is it abuse to send them on to a Democrat run city but not on from Mexico to DeSantis and all the rest of the way down that chain? Why is it abuse when DeSantis sends them somewhere else and not when the Cartels and leftists leaders invite and encourage them to come on mass to DeSantis? Of course nobody wants to use migrants as weapons, but they are being used as that. These leftist fools need to taste their policies, just look at the migrant crisis from the Middle East years ago into Europe, they fled war and bombing etc, but it was USA bombs, precisely because these leftists remained sheltered from it they continued to bomb, regime change and destabilize these nations. They need to taste their own fruits.

Why are they not going to Mexico or El Salvador and building those places up? They speak the same language and those two places have some decent leaders at the moment actually, what is preventing them from earning a living there? I'd also say Brazil is where I'd try to go legally if I were South American and support Bolsonaro but they speak Portuguese so another language.

Would I be doing it illegally? I don't know, would depend on the circumstances (how difficult and how desperate I was), I'd certainly be trying to do so legally and exhaust all those avenues first, have any of these people even tried to do so legally?

God Bless

It sure the hell is not Catholic to overrun a society, which will not be able to help its own citizens, once it collapses. Catholic Charities gets millions to help these law breakers, so they can fill the pews they emptied by their protestant mass and bad teaching and example.

As it is with Govt. Charity... they are always so generous... (with your money not theirs) and the conflict in Ukraine... why they are so willing to sacrifice for the cause (with Ukrainian lives certainly not their own lives) and with mass migration, why they are so welcoming (in your town and neighborhood certainly not their wealthy gated communities).

The Church is intolerant in principle because she believes; she is tolerant in practice because she loves. The enemies of the Church are tolerant in principle because they do not believe; they are intolerant in practice because they do not love. - Father Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange

The best and most accurate quote ever IMO ^

Like that meme goes, Ukraine here are billions of dollars of weapons etc so you can fight and die for us, we are such loving and caring people... Flint, Michigan... yea, I wouldn't drink your water.

Or heroic public servants on the front lines tending to COVID19 patients during the fear... what heroes, but as soon as they won't take an experimental jab when it comes out... yea so selfish, lets fire them all and demonize them...

Remember too that inflation is in reality simply theft.

Instead of taking it from you directly (even after paying all your taxes), they simply print or create more to make what you have worth less. One of the perks of fiat currency, the corrupt monarchs and merchants used to do it with 'Coin debasement'.

Those quotes are explained. The government must judge which immigrants are peaceful and which are hostile. But it's false that everyone must be allowed to enter the Country.

There's a reason why Mexicans are fleeing a country run by Mexicans and why moslems flee to Europe escaping countries run by moslems.

Defective cultures.  And you don't want those people voting or in the Americans' government.

The answer is for the Church to convert non-Catholics or to preach in Catholic lands and fix the corruption and marxism.  Instead the conciliar church spreads liberation theology.

We see the same in Europe as their socialist ways have destroyed the formerly Catholic countries.  I don't want a typical German or Brit to come to the US.

For any who'd say that this stance is lacking in charity -- what is to be said about all the drownings?

https://twitter.com/lyndseyfifield/status/1570913847015251968

All the drownings, other deaths, rapes, child sex trafficking, deaths from Fentinol, and terrorists being allowed in to set up terrorist cells are on Biden (or on those pulling his strings).
