P.S. erin, your new custom title is huge.  (It's very fitting, though).  I notice you go without a signature.  Perhaps you should switch your custom title to your signature?  A big, clunky box of text between a username and an avatar looks ... I don't know: "not streamlined."  The Kopf has a huge custom title, too.  Aesthetically, I think it's better to have less distance between one's username and avatar.  Just a suggestion.

Hmm.. I think you're right about the aesthetics, but sometimes when I see signatures I accidentally read them as part of a person's post. I need a new avatar as well, I haven't had blue hair for a year.

Heinrich, Baldrick, Bonaventure, and any others:
We need to, as Catholics, use our sensus Catholicus to discern what is appropriate and what isn't appropriate for consumption as good God-fearing and -loving, Catholics.  Blanket statements do no one any favors.

Amen. Some men here are saying, unabashedly, that music hosted on this thread, and thus your website, are "from Hell."

It is. I am saying this and I will continue to say it. I don't want to come to a Traditional Catholic Forum and have to see the still images of the music you listen to.

This is moral?

Is it pornographic? Is it inducing you to sin?

What are you going to do? Start another public campaign to get me removed as a moderator? If you don't like what is posted on this thread, then leave. If that sullies the forum for you, you ought to not visit this website. No one is putting a gun to your head to visit this site, nor become fixated with what I post.

No, it is not pornographic. It doesn't have to be to that depth to be impure. It is not inducing me to sin due to the fact that through the Grace of God I have control of these base desires. Some here may not. It could be an inducement to sin. Give that some thought. This isn't about "you." It is about goodness and decency.

Are you back on the mod squad?

Please provide evidence of a public campaign to have you demoderated.

I see two people about to kiss in the still shot- is that really 'impure'? Seriously? I don't see any groping or anything like that so I'm not sure what the big deal is... If that is enough to induce someone to sin, he should probably lock himself in the basement and never use the internet at all.

I guess I can appreciate both perspectives.  erin has a point: a mere kiss is perfectly harmless.  And the video, if you watch it, is so lame and colorful and childish as to render nil any "impurity" level to the proceedings.  Yet what Heinrich sees is only the still shot, which does seem intimate because it's so tightly framed, and it comes off as "fleshly" because of the skin-on-skin scheme and the gauzy blur—kind of like in the 80s when softcore filmmakers would put a thin smear of vaseline on their camera lens to make everything look soft and sexy.  But in this instance, that effect is just accidental.  It's simply where the YouTube video was randomly paused to make the thumbnail.

I think it's a shame Taylor Swift is so dorky and cheery.  She has a nice Aryan look, with her blonde hair and pale skin.  She would be cool if she wore crown braids, and less makeup, and white Scandinavian tunics, and hung out beneath the shade of ash trees.  And smiled less.  She smiles a lot.  She loves her fans—she has an "OMG you guys are the best" smile for her fans.  Maybe her handlers are telling her to smile.  On another forum, there was a thread about feminists who were putting up posters that said "stop telling women to smile."  Somebody should stop telling Taylor Swift.  She could be cast as Freya, or a Viking princess.  But no.  She's wearing makeup and smiling.  Oh well.  It's her life.

Well, her music is just awful.  I hate the Cure, but she would actually improve if she took on the Cure as an influence.  I hesitate to frown on a young woman exercising her creativity and self-expression, but ... she would probably be a better model or actress than she is a singer/songwriter.  That might sound shallow, but it's not.  I don't look down on modelling or acting.  Photography and film are excellent art forms.  And her music (such as it is) has little artistic quality.

I'm not saying I stress about it.  But it's hard to avoid Taylor Swift on the internet.  She even pops up on Catholic forums, where she causes mild debates.  My reaction is, "she could be cooler."
