Hey, I've noticed for a couple years now that really early in the morning I see a big reddish star low in the sky towards the SE.  I'm really curious what this star is? Does anyone here know of a good website where you can type in your location, etc, to find out what I'm seeing? Thanks

If the star isn't twinkling it's probably Mars.
These are both good sites: space.com or nightskyinfo.com

In conclusion, I can leave you with no better advice than that given after every sermon by Msgr Vincent Giammarino, who was pastor of St Michael's Church in Atlantic City in the 1950s:

"My dear good people: Do what you have to do, When you're supposed to do it, The best way you can do it,   For the Love of God. Amen"

Do you have a smartphone?  They have pretty good apps where you just point your phone in the direction and it shows you a star map of what should be there based on location, time, and season.

The Night Sky and Google Star Map (or something similar) are the two I whip out when wanting to impress the girlfriend.

I don't need a smartphone to impress women, I just rely on my encyclopedic knowledge of all things 8)
