"The World Must Conform to Our Lord and not He to it." Rev. Dennis Fahey CSSP

"My brothers, all of you, if you are condemned to see the triumph of evil, never applaud it. Never say to evil: you are good; to decadence: you are progess; to death: you are life. Sanctify yourselves in the times wherein God has placed you; bewail the evils and the disorders which God tolerates; oppose them with the energy of your works and your efforts, your life uncontaminated by error, free from being led astray, in such a way that having lived here below, united with the Spirit of the Lord, you will be admitted to be made but one with Him forever and ever: But he who is joined to the Lord is one in spirit." Cardinal Pie of Potiers

If you were part of that, you were willing to die for God and Country.

Which is why when the US gets into a future (real) war, we'll lose within a few weeks.  And then hit the nuke button.

But Spain stop being Catholic so quickly after Franco's death. And the problems started in the 60s even before the VII.

Can anyone recommend any good books/documentaries that are pro-Franco (or at least very neutral)?

"The Cypresses Believe in God" (and subsequent 2 books in the trilogy)
Perhaps the greatest novel of the 20th century takes place in the Spanish Civil War.

It is both very neutral and pro-Franco. It is written so objectively that even the Communist revolutionaries admit that he totally nailed the time period, and the characters are all people that they recognize.

At the same time that it is neutral, it is also "pro-Franco" simply because that is the objective truth. The anti-Franco propaganda that you see in the news never presents any of the historical facts. When you read about the murder of priests, raping nuns and burning cathedrals, either you are in favor of it or you are not.

The above sentence, admittedly, is more lurid than the book itself. The novel follows the unrolling of the revolution, revealing the internal logic that leads to such atrocities, without taking any ahistorical viewpoint of denunciation.

An excellent book detailing how brave communist women fought against the patriarchy.  (JOKING! -- well the book is actually real)

Here's some good books:

Mine Were of Trouble: A Nationalist Account of the Spanish Civil War  Written by Englishman Peter Kemp fighting for Franco.

The Last Crusade by Carroll.  The Classic.
"But he that doth not believe, is already judged: because he believeth not in the name of the only begotten Son of God (Jn 3:18)."

"All sorrow leads to the foot of the Cross.  Weep for your sins."

"Although He should kill me, I will trust in Him"

From Carroll:

Quote"July 24 1936, three Discalced Carmelite sisters (the order founded by St. Teresa of Ávila) were recognized by militia in a Madrid street ... 'Nuns! Shoot them!' one of the militiamen cried. They opened fire at once on the helpless women, killing one instantly and severely wounding another." Then an Assault Guard appeared and stopped a bus to take the wounded nun to the hospital... "Give her here and I'll finish her off!" cried the bus driver. "The third nun escaped for the moment ... and was eventually accosted by a man who pretended to want to help her, but turned her over to another group of militia who shot her also before the day was done."

We're starting to see that with BLM and Antifa.

Stanley G. Payne:

If you know Spanish, because I think it's not translated into English, you can read "Los mitos del Franquismo" by Pio Moa.

In  English, Its' Stanley Payne's books & Burnett Bolloten, "The Spanish Civil War-Revolution and Counter Revolution"
My Brother In Law (very pro-Franco)heartily recommends this second author's trilogy which culminated in the above title: The other two being :"The Grand Camuflage" and "the Spanish Revolution"
Here is a review:https://libcom.org/article/spanish-civil-war-revolution-and-counterrevolution-burnett-bolloten

QuoteCompleted by Burnett Bolloten just before his death in 1987, "The Spanish Civil War" is the culmination of fifty years of dedicated and painstaking research. While Bolloten's earlier works -- "The Grand Camouflage" (1961) and "The Spanish Revolution" (1979) -- ended with the controversial events in May 1937, "The Spanish Civil War" covers the entire period from 1936 to 1939 and is the most exhaustive study on the subject in any language. It will be regarded as the authoritative political history of the war and an indispensable encyclopedic guide to Republican affairs during the Spanish conflict.

Using extensive documentation from a vast collection of primary sources that he accumulated over the years, Bolloten develops two general themes. First, he meticulously charts the depth and scope of the popular revolution unleashed by the July 1936 military rebellion, showing that -- despite elaborate attempts by some Republican groups to minimize its significance -- the revolution dramatically reshaped the architecture of politics in the Republican zone. Revolutionary committees sprang up in countless villages and towns, creating new structures of economic and political power, largely controlled and directed by workers' organizations.

Second, Bolloten argues that the fierce struggle for political hegemony on the left led to the rise in power and influence of the Spanish Communist party. He documents precisely how the Communists managed either to eliminate or absorb their opponents on the left, including Anarchosyndicalists, dissident Marxists, Socialists, and liberal Republicans. Backed by the prestige and material resources of the Soviet Union, the Communists gained decisive control over nearly every phase of public life. Underpinning Bolloten's analysis of the Communists' rise to prominence is his carefully researched discussion of international diplomacy during this period.
My B.I.L. Also is a big fan of the "Cypresses Believe in God" trilogy.

Mister Cowboy

I haven't read it yet but there's a book called "Combat Over Spain". Correct me if I'm wrong but its about this duke that fought for the Nationalists as a fighter pilot.

There's also this work called "The Spanish Arena" but I don't know much about it.

There's a book called "Martyrs of the Religious Persecution during the Spanish Civil War". The version I got is written in Spanish.

From what I've read, the hate and violence against monastics during the Spanish Civil War seems completely unmotivated, and I heavily suspect demonic influence
