How to see my own reply to Private messages?

I private messaged someone and they messaged back, but now i cant see my own reply to what i said. Is there any way to see it?

Yes, and no.

When you go to My Messages, you will see your received messages. If you saved your own replies, you can view them in the menu under Messages in Sent Items. If you have not saved your sent messages, it will be empty.

Sent messages are only saved if you select it when sending a message or have checked the Save a copy of each personal message in my sent items by default option, which I think may not default to save.
