I cannot use any social media app without it invariably filling up my "suggested" timelines with young women in little clothing dancing, no matter how diligently I click "block" or "uninterested." Tiktok, Instagram, snapchat, (twitter is more manageable but still tried).

The algorithms simply know I am a young-ish dude and that is what I statistically would want to see (along with sports). It's literally impossible to use without being exposed to impurity so I just can't even download the things. I mention it to older people or women and they don't believe me because their algorithms are different - all shopping adverts.

I can't imagine what is being 'suggested' to the average 13 year old boy. Actually, I'm sure it's the exact same content. :(

Might you be able to change the algorithm? Maybe do some searches like an overweight woman might do such as searching for diet aids and XXX large clothing? Throw them off the trail of young man.

One method I use is to click on the 3 dots symbol (⋮) just to the right of the name of the video. This sub-menu gives one the option of choosing 'Do not recommend channel'. I found that over time I was able to filter out all the channels I do want to see (e.g. BBC News, CNN, ABC, NBC and any other woke crap).

None of it appears in my recommendations. It's great. Every time a new one sneaks in I just 'nuke it from orbit' (it's the only way to be sure  ;D ) using this method.

On Facebook you can block ads, which I did.

Yeah it's truly horrible but also no grown ass man belongs on tiktok, snapchat, insta etc... a couple sisters have Instagram and they said it's just a slut fest basically. So definitely delete both for peace of mind and more importantly, the greater good of your soul.

I just use forums and my own customized news feed (mostly articles from Engine Builder Mag 😅) plus some YT in moderation. Hell, even YouTube is pretty bad especially the ads, which I block and block.

I use an adblocker on Youtube.  Since YT has been trying to stop those, the adblockers have modified so they now allow the initial ad to run for a couple second (without sound) before cutting them out.  In the event YouTube still detects and stops the video, just run the video in a private browser and it'll work.

Here we go!  This is just uncanny.  This song popped into my head this morning at work, just randomly, didn't hear it anywhere.  Check out FB this evening and look what pops up!  Not suggesting anything "dark," but it is uncanny.
