Title: Epiphany
Post by: Chestertonian on January 07, 2018, 10:10:14 AM
Epiphany... what do you do to mark the day.  Can't help to feel sad because Christmas is over and we didn't do much

I know there is a home blessing but I'm not home.  I will get to see my kids later

We have good friends who have hosted an Epiphany party for the last 30 years or so.  We have a potluck meal (including a traditional Epiphany cake) and sing Christmas carols.  Three men dress up as the three kings and process through the house with incense and holy water and do the house blessing.  Then they distribute candies to the guests.

We (and the hosts) started this when our children were young and now we attend with grandchildren. It is one of the highlights of the year - good friends, good food, singing and prayers.
