Another word game idea...

So, I'm just really hyperactive right now, and thought of a really good game idea. Since we like to have fun with accents here, why not have a game where we say a common prayer, maybe the Pater and Ave, and see how that sounds?  Any ideas?

The Lord hath granted her a well-trained tongue...

The Texas accent sounded like Jodie Foster

The L.A. accent sounded like a CA accent, that is, no accent.

No Midwest accent though  :-[  Toronto was somewhat close.

Where do you stand on the A-men/ah-men line?

A-men

Sometime this week I'll try and upload a video; it'll be fun.  Apparently I say the Hail Mary funny, because my mom has yelled at me in the past for slurring the end lol!

I am firmly on the A-men side, but all my kids say ah-men

Bernadette

Definitely ah-men. A-men is what the Protestants around here say!
My Lord and my God.

In the Byzantine chants it's always sung ah-men.

Some people actually practice this stuff.

Whoa, I've never heard anyone from Toronto that sounds like that.  Unless he hailed from Newfoundland first.
Son, when thou comest to the service of God, stand in justice and in fear, and prepare thy soul for temptation.

I've actually heard real life trads try to argue that saying ah-men makes you more Catholic than saying a-men.  People can be so ridiculous sometimes.
"All the good works in the world are not equal to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass because they are the works of men; but the Mass is the work of God. Martyrdom is nothing in comparison for it is but the sacrifice of man to God; but the Mass is the sacrifice of God for man." - St. John Vianney

Ah-men, with the emphasis on the first syllable, is the Latin pronunciation, or so I've been told, so when praying in Latin, using the Latin pronunciation would make sense. But I don't speak or pray in Latin in my day-to-day life, so I'm not really concerned with how the vowel is pronounced or which syllable gets the accent. You're right, people can be really ridiculous.

And you consider yourself a trad?
