She is definitely a she and also a bit of a feminist icon.  They don't need to know anything about her other than that she was a woman.  That is all the proof of holiness needed. ::)

This is not quite accurate. There are good reasons for the feminists to promote Julian of Norwich. She talks about "God the Mother."

I always figured that that was just a metaphor.

People are desperately trying to keep this thread on topic and taking the Julian discussion here:http://www.suscipedomine.com/forum/index.php?topic=8595.0

It could happen.
Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto Thine.

[Matthew 8:26]  And Jesus saith to them: Why are you fearful, O ye of little faith? Then rising up he commanded the winds, and the sea, and there came a great calm.

[Job  38:1-5]  Then the Lord answered Job out of a whirlwind, and said: [2] Who is this that wrappeth up sentences in unskillful words? [3] Gird up thy loins like a man: I will ask thee, and answer thou me. [4] Where wast thou when I laid up the foundations of the earth? tell me if thou hast understanding. [5] Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?

  That was my reaction to the OP.  Five is not enough.

One is enough.

The Blessed Virgin Mary is all we need.
Stay away from the near occasion of sin

Unless one is deeply attached to the Blessed Virgin Mary, now in time, it impossible to attain salvation.

Deriding the intercession of the Saints isn't really a good idea.

With a shout out to ArchBishop Lefebvre   ;)

You and me both.  ;)
"All the good works in the world are not equal to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass because they are the works of men; but the Mass is the work of God. Martyrdom is nothing in comparison for it is but the sacrifice of man to God; but the Mass is the sacrifice of God for man." - St. John Vianney

Daniel

My list:

  • St. Michael
  • my guardian angel
  • St. Jude
  • St. John
  • St. Thomas Aquinas
I pray to the first two.  I read the writings of the last two.  And St. Jude is on the list because I've prayed the St. Jude novena and am now supposed to spread devotion to him.
